Chimney as a chase?
Hi guys, another 7" of snow falling now, so some down time here (I got the blues!)Anyway......Looked at a job the other day,1820s' house.Need some new stuff to the 2nd floor. There is an abandoned chimney available, Knocked down below the roof.It is sured up in the basement on a solid base of 6X6s'.My thought is to drill in the 6x6s' to access the void, pull the NM up and secure in the attic (appropriate strain rlf etc). Fire stop the hole and carry on as normal.I see no issues, just looking for confirmation here.Tanx, Lee.
